When it comes to beaches, this great state has a little bit of everything. Louisiana has a coastline along the Gulf of Mexico, but it also has a number of beautiful lakeside beaches. Each beach is distinct and surrounded by a distinct terrain.

Another advantage of Louisiana's top beaches is that several are dog-friendly, and a couple even allow beachside camping! Thus, if you want to get outside and pitch your tent by the coast without any fuss - or fees - Louisiana is the place to be. You can also participate in a variety of enjoyable water sports such as kayaking and canoeing (and even a little surfing!). Yet fishing is what Louisiana is most known for.
